Original Waltham enamel Guilloche Dial with hunters case movement from 1897

Steel with Convex sapphire crystal front, diamond coated glass display back. water Resistant to 50 Meters.

Movement:
15 jewel Waltham Antique American pocket watch hunters case movement. Manufactured in 1897. Bimetallic balance wheel with gold balance timing screws, Gold jewel cups. Fancy Star  regulator.

Dial:
Very Rare, original Fancy Waltham Guilloche enamel dial with inlaid gold arabic numbers, with Gold Louis XIV  hands. This is one of the most unusual dials I have ever seen. The Dial artisan Guilloched the base dial and then overlaid gold numbers, then fired enameled “maroon” colored glass enamel over the numbers.
American manufactured watches were fitted with porcelain dials from 1852 to the 1930s. Made from different colored ground glass that was applied to a copper disk and fired in a kiln at high temperature. The fancy ones are done in several layers, heated at each layer to achieve the gold inlay.
